Here are nine easy steps to get you started meditating:
Choose a quiet place (free from distractions)
Decide if you want ambient music to meditate.
Choose a comfortable chair or place to sit, assume a position in which your spine is as straight as possible.
Close your eyes.
Inhale, allowing your chest and stomach to expand as you do so.
Exhale slowly.
Concentrate on your breath. You have to be aware of each breath and the feeling of greater relaxation each time.
Allow your thoughts and feelings to enter your mind. Admit them and let them pass, and refocus your attention on your breath.
Open your eyes when you feel more relaxed and centered.
TIPS:
Start with 5 to 10 minutes each day and work your way up to 20 minutes or more.
Practice meditation before meals
